Shakespeare Link | Willow Globe Theatre

Founded in 1992 by Artistic Directors Susanna Best and Philip Bowen, Shakespeare Link has been a prominent name in the theatrical world, boasting extensive professional experience with esteemed institutions such as the Royal Shakespeare Company, the English Shakespeare Company, the Royal Opera House, and the Old Vic. The Company obtained charitable status in 1994 and has since been dedicated to fostering a love for Shakespeare through various workshops and events.

In 2014, Shakespeare Link collaborated with PixelHaze to establish an online presence and an e-commerce platform for ticket sales, which successfully served its purpose for several years. However, in response to changing digital landscapes and an evolving brand, Shakespeare Link sought PixelHaze's help once more to breathe new life into their online platform.

The primary objective of this project was to revamp their existing website, which had begun to feel outdated. The aim was to inject a fresh and dynamic brand identity that reflects the energy and excitement synonymous with their community and events. Artist Leanne Cordingley-Wright played a pivotal role in reshaping Shakespeare Link's visuals through her diverse range of event posters and illustrations. These artworks have played a significant part in the evolution of Shakespeare Link's branding over the years, and the intention was to integrate these elements into their new website.

The revamped Squarespace website was designed to place the events and the vibrant community at the forefront. Every aspect, including photography, illustrations, graphic design, and the inclusion of actors, was crafted with a deep-rooted passion for Shakespeare Link and the work at Willow Globe, the venue associated with the company.

The website not only serves as an e-commerce platform for ticket sales but also as a hub that encapsulates the essence of Shakespeare Link's spirit. It showcases the diversity of their events and the profound impact they've had, all while radiating the enthusiasm and love for Shakespeare that permeates the entire community.

The website aimed to combine artistic creativity with modern technology, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience while underscoring the uniqueness and vibrancy that defines Shakespeare Link and its events.

This project was not just about a technical upgrade but a reinvigoration that mirrors the heart and soul of Shakespeare Link, culminating in a digital space that echoes the passion and artistic fervor of its founders and community.
