How to Copy Sections from One Squarespace Site to Another (Squarespace 7.1)

If you’ve ever rebuilt the same section across multiple Squarespace sites, you’ll know how much of a time sink it can be. Thankfully, Squarespace have rolled out a handy new feature that lets you save and reuse sections between sites, no plugins or Google extensions needed!

Here’s how to do it:

1. Head to the Site with the Section You Want

Open up the first Squarespace site β€” the one that contains the section you want to reuse.

⚠️ This currently works on Squarespace 7.1 only, so double-check you’re not working on a legacy 7.0 site.

2. Find and Hover Over the Section

Scroll to the section you want to save. Hover over it and keep your eyes on the top right-hand corner. You’ll see a little heart icon appear.

3. Save the Section to Your Account

Click the heart icon. Instead of saving it just to that site, select Your Account from the save options. This makes the section available across all the websites connected to your Squarespace login.

Nice and tidy.

4. Open the Second Website

Now switch over to the Squarespace site where you want to use the saved section.

5. Add a New Section

Navigate to the page and scroll to the spot where you want to insert your saved section. Hover between two existing sections and click Add Section.

6. Choose β€˜Saved Sections’

From the menu that pops up, select Saved Sections, then choose Your Account.

You’ll now see a list of all the sections you’ve saved previously. Pick the one you need and boom, it drops straight into your new site.
